Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!
I haven't blogged in a while because things have been so crazy for me, but the recent events of my life compel me to write again today. Yesterday, my little brother was killed in a hit and run accident in Baltimore, MD. http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/local/crime/bal-md.crimebriefs301may30,0,2119313.story He was only 18 years old. His life, cut short by someone who decides allegedly to steal a car, hit my brother, and keep on going. My brother was supposed to graduate next Sunday from high school. I never expected to receive that phone call from my dad that my brother had been hit by a car and was fighting for his life.
From the minute I received that phone call, I tweeted about my brother fighting for his life. Almost instantly, people started tweeting me back praying for his survival, hoping for the best, giving me strength when I needed it the most. Most especially, my #YNTWTR family came to my side, lifted me up in prayer, sent me positive vibes.
I have been extremely overwhelmed by the response of everyone, my friends on Twitter and on Facebook, who has sent words of support, comfort, condolence. To everyone who said a prayer for me and my family, to those who called to check up on me, sent me a text, from the bottom of my heart I thank you! On behalf of my my family, who's dealing with the tragic loss of my beloved brother, I thank you!
A special message to my #TNTWTR family on Twitter, I am eternally grateful! #YNTWTR was initially a joke among a group of us on Twitter, which has since become a movement. A family. Dwight, @mrallenakaneo, Mr. President, thank you for being a virtual shoulder to lean on. Thanks for sending the DMs to check up on me, for taking a 5 minute tweet of silence to honor my brother, for your prayers. I am eternally grateful to all of you. We may have never seen each other in person, but we are a family.
If you wish to send a note, a card, etc., email me at qhairston06@gmail.com and I'll send you my address.
God Bless You All!
